My business is truth but my tools are lies

About Me

I live in the granite city of Aberdeen, Scotland, where I've been writing short fiction for many years. My work has appeared in over fifty print and online publications, including Dark Tales, Buzzwords, Word Riot, Noo Journal, Underground Voices, Outsider Ink, Eclectica, TQR, The Rose & Thorn, The Late Late Show, echolocation, Darker Matter, GUD Magazine, and others. My story, Unzipped, was selected as one of the Notable Stories in storySouth's Million Writers Award.
My fiction tends to have a dark, psychological edge to it whether it is literary or genre in style. I am fascinated by the seriously flawed protagonist, The Outsider, the persona non grata - much more interesting to me than the stereotypical Hero or Heroine. If that appeals to you too then perhaps you'll like what I write.
Future publications in:
echolocation (print)
Black Box (electronic anthology)
TQR's Best Of anthology (print)
Twisted Twins Daily Chills Calendar (print)
