About Me

Beat the Dust is a space for writers to flex their literary muscle and showcase their latest work. The space is updated the first week of each month with the very best poetry, short stories, novel chapter ones, flash fiction and plays from talented writers around the world.

Beat the Dust is about inventive, hard-hitting, intelligent, honest, emotive, thought-provoking writing. We're particularly interested in work that involves some kind of contradiction or breaks a rule in some way. For full details of how and where to submit your stuff, go to www.beatthedust.com .

Readers can read the writing online, add comments, watch vids of writers performing or discussing their work on BTD TV , play or download the Beat the Dust Podcast and print off the monthly Chap-book.

Making stuff up, running, gigs, Pilates, comedy, raging against the Machine, vacuuming patterns into the carpet, movies, reading, theatre, finding new illnesses I'm about to die of, cooking, drawing, vegetarianism, walking, making stuff up...

I'd like to meet:

Writers with 'kiss my shades!' attitude who 'live life in the raw, grapple with it bravely and attack it with naked fists.'

Discerning readers who see reading as exercise.
