About Me
Anne Sullivan is a popular Chicago area flutist who is celebrating the success of two solo CDs and numerous other recordings. A classically trained flutist, she has become known for her eclectic blending of styles, ranging from pop to jazz, new age and classical. Her performances are concentrated in Chicago, but extend also to Paris, Toulouse and Taipei. Anne is known for an expressive style and exceptional tone quality. She has recorded for Jack Schraeder, Muriel Anderson, Glenn Yarbrough and Yamaha Corporation. Her solo CDs, Ultraviolet Café and Mosaic Road have sold internationally.
She is currently recording a third solo album with producer Glen West and keyboardist Dennis Ostermann.
A recent concert in December, with guitarist Muriel Anderson, provided a standing room only audience a chance to hear updated versions of “Silver Wind,†and other duos.
Born in Summit, New Jersey, Anne received a Bachelor of Music at Wheaton College and a Master of Music at DePaul University.
Anne has taught flute at a university in Taiwan and soloed throughout the country. She has also taught and performed in Paris, Senlis, and Chantilly, France. Other performances include Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Taipei.
Following studies with Marty Farahat, Alexander Murray and James Galway, she performed extensively with guitarist Muriel Anderson. Anne currently teaches at Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL.
Anne has appeared on commercials for Yamaha Corporation, as well as Chicago television shows. Music from "Ultraviolet Cafe" has been featured on American Airlines in-flight music channels.
