About Me

Christy is a classically-trained bassoonist performing with wind ensembles, orchestras, and most recently, a woodwind quintet (see link below) in the N.J. area. She has participated in 8 CD recordings with these ensembles.
Christy studied with Philadelphia Orchestra co-prinicipal bassoonist Mark Gigliotti from 1996-2001.
Before Christy began playing bassoon in high school, she studied saxophone (her first love), horn and piano for 8 years, and continues to play and aspire on those instruments, as well. She still performs regularly with bands on saxophone, flute and cello.
She is the Director of Bands at Cresskill Elementary/Middle Schools in the Cresskill school district (2003-present), and has several private students on saxophone, piano, flute, cello and bassoon.
