I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Born and bred in Buffalo, New York, "The City of Good Neighbors," and "Talkin' Proud" about it. Currently having a torrid love affair with this little slice of paradise known as Austin, Texas.I work in sales, marketing, and promotions for the Round Rock Express Baseball Club, and spend a lot of time representing the team in the Greater Austin community. My favorite Express endeavor outside of the Dell Diamond is working with the Austin Miracle League, where I coach the Yankees and serve on the board of directors. It's an incredibly rewarding experience - check out austinmiracleleague.org. The Express has been recognized by everyone from the Minor League News and ESPN to Playboy as the hottest spot in the minor leagues, and we were awarded the 2006 MacPhail Award by Minor League Baseball for best promotions and community involvement. The Dell Diamond is the coolest place ever, and the organization makes it easy for me to have the time of my life there.I'm also a freelance writer, covering music for the Buffalo News and assorted Austin institutions.

My Interests

Live music, baseball, open roads, soaking up the scene in Austin while holding on to the title of "The Buffalo Man," being an Austin tour guide, talking about cell phones and the weather as little as possible.

I'd like to meet:

Cool new people, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Jim James, Levon Helm, Mike Veeck, Bill Murray, Jimmy Carter, Conan O'Brien, Matt Groening, Adam Sandler, Noam Chomsky, Mumia Abu-Jamal, Leonard Peltier, more Irish cousins, my match, and anyone else who's open-minded.

Music:

Favorite all-time: the Band Favorite current: My Morning Jacket Everyone in the world should know and love Jony James - jonyjamesband.com or myspace.com/jonyjamesband. Anything that's original and compelling, whether it's cool like Miles Davis, hot like Robert Randolph & the Family Band, or both like My Morning Jacket. The bottom rows of my top friends are some of the Austin artists I'm diggin these days.

Movies:

Favorite all-time: Billy Madison Most recent: Evan Almighty - Flop City. What a terrible script. I like laughs of almost all levels - not too smart, not too stupid - heavy stories containing things that make you go "hmm," and don't get into horror flicks.

Television:

Austin City Limits, Conan O'Brien, Letterman, Simpsons, Seinfeld, Jeopardy, Daily Show & Colbert Report, ESPN, cool nature stuff, the audition rounds of American Idol.

Books:

Currently reading: "The Facts of Life and Other Dirty Jokes," Willie Nelson. Favorite all-time: "On the Road," Jack Kerouac.

Heroes:

My parents, Cy Williams, Mark Grace, Jony James, Willie Nelson, Jay Miller.

Bob Schneider interview - Buffalo News, 4/6/07

Bob Schneider is in a league of his own. Fearlessly prolific, he's a slick schizophrenic who can flip on a dime from a clean, conscious croon to a raw, rapid rhyme. For the better part of two decades,...
