"mcArtney manages to pack more beauty and truth into his 2:00 song "Circles" than some artists deliver in a lifetime..."
Rosanna Lee Host of "The Deep End" KCSN 88.5FM/Los Angeles
The story of mcArtney so far…
mcArtney is a singer/songwriter, lets get that straight. Pop songwriting with abstract and distinct production makes this young lad’s brand of indie pop stand out from the monotony of the music marketplace. He hails from a small town, although these days he resides in the big smoke that is Sydney town.
Within mcArtney’s music, production is inquisitive. Vocals work as rhythms, organs act as basses, and real instruments are played...believe it or not. He gathers influences anywhere - from the Beach boys, to Jeff Buckley to Ryan Adams.
mcArtney is set on creating Australian music history, following in the steps of English artists Radiohead and the Crimea in releasing his music primarily online. Music lovers can download his first collection of amazing songs, ‘volume one’, from his website mcartneymusic.com or buy direct from iTunes all over the world.
The idea of painting with music is something mcArtney applies to his songwriting, encouraging listeners to follow the images and emotions he is provoking. ‘volume one’ creates the images over 5 intricate and poignant tracks, marking the beginning of mcArtney’s solo journey.
These ideas were created in the depths of mcArtney’s home, where he spent hours laboring over his Apple Macbook, producing and recording this intricate piece of art. He then handed the reigns to his friend Sean Carey (Thirsty Merc), who stepped in for mixing, then to renowned mastering engineer Kathy Naunton (Missy Higgins, the Dissociatives) to finish off the job.
mcArtney is a fresh-faced, breakthrough act – Although, he has spent much time discovering and learning about music. Having performed in numerous and various acts since 1999, mcArtney, has played rock, pop, jazz, funk and even in musicals, playing multiple instruments and touring relentlessly. Nevertheless, always working on his songwriting, arranging and producing skills.
A professional musician by trade, in mcArtney’s creations you'll hear double bass, electric bass, acoustic, electric and 12 string guitars, organs and percussion throughout. mcArtney's background gives a musical dimension you normally wouldn't hear from similar songwriting styles. Look out for ‘volume two’ as mcArtney is feeling confident that his design for releases maybe the catalyst for his releases.

big ups to chris harvey & steven lattuca for the film clip
"Last to take stage was mcArtney, a melodic pop man with a light touch. Any band with a good double bass scores my vote, so mcArtney had me the from the get go. Extra points for inventive use of a megaphone and coordinated boat shoes. Tim McArtney's solo project brings together thoughtful lyrics, lusty guitar and a full band's backing. His indie pop is crispy clean, while dedications to his Grandma addedto the good guy image. As he moved from instrument to instrument it was obvious that he knew exactly how he wanted his band to sound, and it wasn't a bad vision..."
