All these experienes are reflected in her music: Soul, Funk and the spirit of the Caribbean Rhythms are melted to a very soulful, partly thoughtful, yet always positive musical work which is full of energy and warmth.
Already at the age of 7 she started to sing with the Cuban Choir I.C.R.T before joining the bands LAS CHICAS DEL SABOR, RICACHA and LA SONORA CARIBENA.
At the age of 22 she met the German, Cologne based, musician Roland Peil and soon was a member of his German-Cuban project AGUA DE COLONIA.
In 1997 Mirta moved to Cologne and in 1998 became the singer for BROTHER RESISTANCE & DE RAPSO RIDDUM BAND, touring with them all over Europe for several years.
Because of this co-operation Mirta became known within the scene as a very versatile singer. Besides leading her own Cuban ensembles, she was member of the Cologne based Hip Hop formation BANTU (founders of BROTHER'S KEEPERS), works with many Reggae bands e.g. SIX REVELATIONS as well as with the new vocal-star of Senegal, ABLAYÉ MBAYE.
While working with the Reggae band SUPA-T & THE REGGAE CRACKS (with Trevor Taylor from BAD BOY BLUE) she met the musician and producer Guido Craveiro, who immediately realized Mirta's potential as a singer as well as composer and songwriter.
Guido, who has been working with DE LA SOUL, CHAKA KHAN and BOOTSY COLLINS as a songwriter and producer, is currently working with Mirta on her debut-album "Mirta - with influence. Guido is also the musical director and keyboard-player of Mirta's band.
