About Me

Myspace Layouts - Myspace Editor

I´m 29 years old musician, pianist, keyboardist and composer from Russia.Though born and grew up in St. Petersburg, I moved to Germany about 10 years ago. Despite my classical education in Russia I turned to Jazz music in the age of 14 and this still remains my favourite. 6 Years ago I met Steve Reid, a drummer from NY, who just came to Munich. At this time I joined his group, doing diverse Projects with diverse musicians and now I´m proud to find myself as a keyboardist on the last Steve Reid´s release for the Soul Jazz Records, "The Spirit Walk", which we recorded a year ago featuring the brilliant electronic musician Kieran Hebden. With this band we´ve been touring England together with the famous DJ Gilles Peterson and recorded a session for the BBC as well. Today I still live in Hamburg, Germany, where I´m active on the local scene, working with my own groups and as a sideman. Besides Steve and Kieran I had pleasure to work with Herb Geller (who lives in Hamburg as well), Lew Soloff, Franco Ambrosetti, Keith Copeland, Danny Gottlieb, John Marshall, Joe Rigby, Wolfgang Schlüter and many others. As a musician I stand for integration between different musical cultures and I´m sure that the younger people deserve better music than the trash the usually get on the radio. By the way everybody is invited to buy some tracks of my trio at the indiestore
