My interests in general and in music specifically are widespread, I enjoy and treasure all that life has to offer. I wouldn..t call myself an arts buff, but I am sure that the ability to understand music, painting, literature and all other great things that make us human and alive is one of the greatest qualities I can acquire. Making an honest and personal statement musically is what keeps me going, not for the reason of pleasing my ego, but for the fact of bare necessity. In our world of plentiness (culturally and otherwise) nothing might seem truly necessary, but only recently have I realized that expression is essential to me. As most people, I like to express myself in many ways: through music, friendship, love, or even simple things such as cooking for someone. Music (mostly Jazz) is what I seek refinement in and where I try to search my soul at least a little. To me, the stylistic specifications of "Jazz" seem to be no limiting factor. On the contrary, I am sure that within that genre the posiibilities of creativity and expression are absolutely boundless. Playing the tenor sax in a band with piano, bass and drums might not seem revolutionary after at least a million records being made and thousands of masters having lived and died. But being able to say something beyond words or logic is what I am trying for, what will make me happy.
