As things stand at the mo, we are currently putting the finishing touc hes on our album which will be released at some point in the future...!!
So, who are we? Well, the band on the offshore has been experimenting with different ideas for many years. The project began with Kilian and Girisha as a funky, psychedelic, modal, jazzy thing and has, over the years developed towards a more clubby, dancefloor concept.
At the heart of the project, however, is songwriting in the classic sense. The songs are usually composed with guitar or piano, but the aim is to be able to produce and perform these songs for a club context - a live band playing music as danceable as a dj but with the intimate intensity of a classic songwriter.

And now the people...
British singer/lyricist Lucy Pereira entered the German club circuit as a live vocalist at Drum&Bass parties. She was discovered by Marc Frank and Jochen Helfert (les gammas/compost records) in 2001 and promptly booked as lead singer of LES GAMMAS live! for the compost 100 European tour and beyond... Jazzcafé, London; Fabric, London; Big Chill Festival, UK; Fusion Festival, Moscow; Jazz Festival, Oslo; Elektronikaldia, San Sebastian; Vega, Copenhagen; Tollwood Festival, Munich; MoVibes; Fürstenfeldbrück; etc.). Lucy is also a member of the improvised performance based project centering around the Automatic Loop Machine (A.L.M.) as well as being an active jazz vocalist performing regularly in various jazz projects (Lucy Pereira Quartet, MODAL UNDERGROUND, guest singer Kayfidelity)
Bassist/producer Girisha Fernando has worked with numerous jazz and hip-hop outfits. He played bass for LES GAMMAS live! 2001-2003 (Vega, Copenhagen; Cisternino Summer Jazz ,Italy; Tollwood Festival, Munich; Jazz Festival, Nancy; MoVibes, Fürstenfeldbrück; Elektronikaldia, San Sebastian; etc.). 2002 -2004 he worked and toured the German club scene with dancehall shooting star NOSLIW (east west records) as a member of the one drop band (Pop-komm, Cologne; Summerjam, Cologne; Splash!, Chemnitz; Chiemsee Reggae Summer; Afrika Festival, Aschaffenburg + Würzburg; WDR Festival, Mühlheim a.d. Ruhr; BR Zündfunk Bavarian Open, Munich; Fête de la Musique, Mauerpark Berlin, etc.)
He also works with New York saxophonist CHRIS HIRSON, FIVA, MODAL UNDERGROUND, ANJA JANOSI,etc.
Drummer Kilian Bühler has played in various jazz and electronic projects. He collaborates with the acclaimed Walter Bittner in the percussive loop-based formation DIGILOGUE and performs with Modal Underground, Chris Hirson, etc. ...And he is the inventor of the infamous A.L.M. Loopmachine!!
After a classical piano education, Tim studied Jazz Piano from 2002-2007 at the Richard-Strauss-Conservatory in Munich. In 2006, he was awarded 2nd prize at the famous Gasteig-Competition in 2006. As a sideman, he has appeared on numerous Jazz CD productions and worked with international artists such as Larry Grenadier, Charito and Jeff Ballard.
Deniz Khan, known to many as an outstanding freestyle-rapper, is currently undergoing private indepth study of beat producing skills on the MPC.

MONKEY BIZNIZZ is a regular clubnight held at the Schwarzes Schaf in Augsburg featuring mostly improvised live performances by members of ON THE OFFSHORE plus guests, and DJ sets by DANIEL BORTZ and SMATIK.
