tim allhoff was born in augsburg in 1980 and was drawn to the piano at a very young age. in the coming years, his passion for jazz soon revealed itself and while teaching himself to play autodidactly he was, in his early teens, already gaining wide experience in various formations ranging from duos to big bands.
after a classical piano education, he studied jazz piano at the richard-strauss-conservatory in munich, where he graduated magna cum laude in 2007.
in 2006, he was awarded 2nd prize at the famous gasteig-competition, which led to the debut performance of his composition »triptychon for solo piano« at the carl-orff-saal in munich.
tim allhoff has rapidly made a name for himself throughout south germany and during the last couple of years he has been playing concerts and tours, which have brought him to places such as austria, holland, france, england and the czech republic.
in 2008, he won the advancement award for arts (kunstförderpreis) of his hometown augsburg.
as a sideman, he has appeared on numerous cd productions and worked with international artists such as larry grenadier, charito, dieter ilg, and jeff ballard.
besides his collaboration on the projects kayfidelity, and deep! he is working intensively on compositions for his solo-piano program.
currently, tim is focusing on his trio, the tim allhoff trio, recording the debut-album in november 2008.
