MUSICIAN - PRODUCER - PROMOTER
Growing up in an artistic family, since the beginning my whole life has been related to arts and music. I have enjoyed classical piano lessons for 11 years and have attended the Music College in Augsburg for 2 years as a guest student.
During this time I had been looking for opposites in another musical directions with electronical tendencies like acid jazz and trip hop.
In 1994 I came in contact with jungle for the first time at some illegal parties and later with drum n bass, since then I have been hooked on the engergy, the fast breaks and deep basses.
Meeting the NME CLICK, a music formation from Ulm (Ger) in 1999, led my to my first steps towards music production.
We recorded 3 common tracks in 2000 and in 2001 one of them was released on the nice one compilation (nice n smooth recordings).
In the year 2002 together with michael lutz (drums) we established the live formation TURNTROOP, later veronika schrder (vocals) joined the band.
Due to our numerous gigs throughout the following years we achieved great recognition and enjoyed increasing popularity within the drum n bass scene in southern Germany. 5 tracks from our set then appeared on the PAINTED EP released in 2004.
However over the years our sound tend more towards jazzbreaks/downbeat/liquid..
In the middle of the year 2005 we decided to have a break of the live gigs in order to gain more time for the perfection of our potential music. That was the time when I considered to work on 2 solo projects which took again a tougher stance of broken beats:
HANUMAN TRIBE stands for eclectic drum n bass and rollin' breaks.
I established the event series RUDE GIRLS SOCIETY in
2006. On the
one hand the idea is to promote female broken beatz
artists and thus always book the latter as headliners
for these events. The selection of artists does not
depend on good looks and fame. First and foremost I go
for real headz who are passionate artists and
enthusiastically form a part of this music scene. As
these events take place in clubs only it is essential
for me that the artists present and convey the energy
of broken beatz properly. On the other hand this event
series stands for different styles of electronic
music. That is why at each event we choose a different
style somewhere between D&B and Breakz. Yet also
within these two genres I try to keep the music
performances at RUDE GIRLS SOCIETY as diverse as
possible by means of booking different acts each and
every time.
