Richard Freeman, trumpet
Originally from Telford, Shropshire, Richard moved to London to study at the Royal College of Music with Malcolm Smith. During his time there, he won the trumpet prize in his first year and played principal trumpet in all the orchestras and lead trumpet in the big band, before being offered a jazz scholarship at Trinity College of Music where he studied with Mike Lovatt and Steve Waterman.
Richard has played with a mixed variety of ensembles including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, European Union Chamber Orchestra, London Jazz Orchestra, Glenn Miller Memorial Orchestra, Hard-fi and the Moscow State Circus, and is a member of the Syd Lawrence Orchestra. He has performed in many countries including Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Holland, Luxemburg, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the USA.
