Matthew hails from sunny Canberra, Australia... hail! Born in Oxford England, emigrated with Aussie parents then living overseas, at the tender age of 1 or so, having soaked up the height of Beatlemania and its attendant sweet sonic delights in the mid-sixties.

Fast-forward to [THEN] - The Fugitives... The Doorkeepers... The Lantern... The Swan Song... bands drifted by like frantic epic clouds looking for somewhere to storm... (where DID those 90's go??)

Fast-forward to [NOW] - studio hermitdom, sound experiments (and unsound??) ...and while a new band quietly coalesces in the wings, Matthew will be playing solo acoustic gigs all over the place.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Matthew Simpson Morgan
and a rotating lineup of fibreglass cybernetic clowns.

Real live bass on Sixeight, Illusory Thing, Twin Pillars, Bellow, Paralysed, and My Heart Wrench by Mel W, who is non-cybernetic, and contains considerably less fibreglass.

Otherwise, everything you hear is played, sung, programmed, recorded, produced by MSM.

Influences: The Church, Radiohead, You Am I, Muse, The Smiths, Bowie, Beatles... and a cast with multiple zeroes.
Sounds Like: Any and all of the above, mixed together in a giant machine-type-thing and vaporised into a pure inhalable essence.
Record Label: Unsigned
Type of Label: None

Grant McLennan - Watershed - 1991

Recently I've been listening a lot to this wonderful album by the late great Grant - actually, he was "G.W. McLennan" for this record... brilliant songwriting as you'd expect, too many clever elements...
