Bluebottle Kiss are a sizzling, navigationally challenged, mostly guitar based band out of Sydney Australia, who like to mix the traditional with the fruity.
A collision of old school singer/songwriters (Dylan, Young, Morrison, Waits), acts who are comfortable with wigging out (Sonic Youth, Coltrane, Television, Nick Cave) and spaghetti western are probably their meeting point. Mostly however, they sound like themselves.
They have played alongside many notables (Dinosaur Jr, Beasts of Bourbon, Will Oldham, Midnight Oil, Interpol, Twilight Singers and more) and toured extensively both in their home country as well as the U.S and U.K.
They have released six albums since the mid '90's - Higher up the Firetrails ('95) Fear of Girls ('96) Patient ('99) Revenge is Slow ('02) Come Across ('03) and Doubt Seeds ('06). Most of these are still available at http://www.bluebottlekiss.com
They have also released lots of EPs and countless singles, good luck finding most of these, but you could check the site again for info there.
Their latest, the critically acclaimed double album, Doubt Seeds, will be out in the USA soon via http://www.inmusicwetrust.com. In the meantime, a new 8 track CD 'Slight Return + Out Seeds' will make its way into the world via Nonzero Records in Australia http://www.nonzero.com.au. Featuring the single “Slight Return†and 7 previously unreleased songs from the Doubt Seeds recording session, they’re the band that just keep on giving.
Thanks for stopping by and have a look at all the nice things these people have said about 'Doubt Seeds' of late.
********** DOUBLE ALBUM "DOUBT SEEDS" IS OUT NOW!! **********
"...For all the conceptual deliberation, Doubt Seeds beauty lies in its chaos. The sounds themselves are nothing unique, a standard four-piece rock setup with occasional brass, piano and violin, but their execution is simply wild... Doubt Seeds is rich, artistic rock of a wonderful standard. Dont be surprised if it winds up on this years Australian Music Prize and J Awards shortlists."

"Doubt Seeds speaks through its concept as much as its words; Hutchings takes the intensity he once poured into delivery and redirects it to the form of the album. It's a demanding journey but those who take it will hear an accomplished artist's most complete album yet."- Rolling Stone

"'Doubt Seeds' is one of the hardest hitting rock albums I've ever heard, and being a double album, that's a lot of weight. They're fearless, they're excited and they're making ground-breaking music... The definition of 'perfection' in art is a subjective one, and due to it moving me so tremendously, I have no problem applying the term to 'Doubt Seeds'. "

" Doubt Seeds sees one of the greatest Australian rock bands of the last 15 years at their most original and at the height of their powers"
