Cloud Nine Southside opened in February 2006 in the heart of Five Points South, Birmingham, Alabama. We are in the former location of Bohemian Rhapsody. At Cloud Nine we strive to provide our customers with the best quality smoker's articles, alternative merchandise and body art services in the Birmingham area.Head Shop Merchandise - We offer a wide variety of smoker's articles (pipes, vaporizers, ashtrays, etc.), tobacco (cigarettes, loose tobacco, rolling papers), items for your crib (candles, incense, tapestries, etc.) and novelty items ranging from humorous t-shirts to titillating adult novelties. Please keep in mind that state law mandates that you, AND EVERYONE IN YOUR PARTY, be 19 YEARS OF AGE with valid current ID in order to buy tobacco, smoking herbs or smoking accessories. We also have the largest selection of body jewelry in the Birmingham area. Our products are carefully selected for style, quality, and value. For your convenience, both our store and studio have extended hours and we accept all major credit cards and debit cards. We are open Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m. - 12 midnight, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. - 3 a.m. and on Sunday from 12p.m. - 12 a.m.Tattoos & Body Piercing Cloud Nine Southside's tattoo artists (Ed Glass, Bryan Haynes & Shawn Nutting) are dedicated to providing you both a HEALTHY and ENJOYABLE tattoo experience 7 days a week. We are happy to help you choose a design or custom work something special to meet your exacting specifications. Cloud Nine now offers permanent cosmetics, such as eyeliner, eyebrows, eyelash enhancement, lip liner, full lip color, and beauty marks. Our four Body Piercers (Aaron, Rosaland, Bob & Karri) are equally committed to providing you with the SAFEST and most PLEASURABLE body piercing experience in town. In addition to fashionable body piercings we specialize in creative piercings for the more adventurous individual and are proud to offer you the largest selection of body jewelry (including organics) in the Birmingham area. We will tattoo minors 17 years of age, however, your design and placement must be approved by the tattoo artist and the studio. Please understand that this is an ethical decision on our part and we want to keep minors from making permanent body art choices that may negatively affect future job prospects, loan and housing opportunities. We will pierce minors, generally age 14 and older *provided* the piercing and placement will not be negatively effected by your future growth. Absolutely no genital or nipple piercings will be done on minors. We will do earlobe piercings on minors younger than 14. IF YOU ARE A MINOR AND WANT A TATTOO OR BODY PIERCING, ALABAMA STATE LAW REQUIRES THAT YOU BRING ALL 4 OF THE FOLLOWING WITH YOU. 1.) Your biological parent or legal guardian (no step parents). 2.) Your parent must have a valid photo ID (driver's license, non-drivers ID, passport, military ID). 3.) You, the minor, must also have a photo ID. If you do not have a learner's permit or driver's license we can also accept a passport, OR a laminated school I.D., OR a report card that has your photo on it provided that the school prints it on the report (you cannot staple a photo to your report card), OR a yearbook with your photo and name clearly identified; 4) AND you must bring a birth certificate to document that the person with you really is your biological parent. If you bring a legal guardian you must bring your legal guardianship papers. AGAIN, THIS IS STATE LAW AND NON-NEGOTIABLE. We are open 7 days a week with extended hours to meet your busy schedule. Our studio is open at 10 a.m. on Monday, Thursday and Friday; at 2 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, and at 12 noon on Sunday. The studio stays open all day and all night until the store closes. We are closed only two days a year, Easter and Christmas Day.We encourage you to stop by and visit us at 1030 20th St. S.
