About Me

I'm a writer from the Chicago area. My first book is called "Stones of Abraxas" and it was released in July, 2006. "Stones of Abraxas" is a funny, exciting Young Adult fantasy novel about a brother and sister who discover that their boring, suburban father is really a secret guardian for the magical world of Abraxas. It's been getting great reviews, and I love hearing from readers about the book. There's lots of information about my writing, as well as excerpts from "Stones of Abraxas" and a short story at my webpage: www.kosbornsullivan.com

When I'm not writing, I also teach college-level political science. Yes, politics and fantasy have a lot in common so this is an easy transition for me.

I enjoy spending as much time as possible lounging around the house with my husband, son, and assorted formerly-stray cats.

Buried at PhotoCasket.com

I'd like to meet:

Readers and writers who will talk books with me. Folks with a great sense of humor who make me laugh.

Music:

Rock (old and new) and some alternative. The coolest CD purchases I've made recently were White Stripes and Mushroomhead

Movies:

Science fiction, fantasy, and funny stuff. Liked "XMen-3" better than the first two. "Serenity" is terrific! I've seen the first "Star Wars" so many times, I can say the dialog along with the characters.

Television:

Love TV! Favorite new show this season is the vampire drama Moonlight. And it's gotten me sucked into Numbers because they're back to back. Boston Legal, MXC on Spike TV, 30 Rock, The Office, The Daily Show and Colbert Report on Comedy Central, Smallville, American Idol (don't groan, you know you secretly watch it, too), Family Guy, Heroes, Friday Night Lights, and lots of HBO

Books:

Some of my favorite young adult books include: "Stones of Abraxas" is the greatest! Louise Rennison's series about Georgia Nichols' trials as an lovelorn English schoolgirl is hysterically funny. I can't forget Harry Potter (although I don't like the last one) and Artemis Fowl. Love the Bartimaeus books.

Heroes:

None - I don't want to put this kind of pressure on anyone.
