Barling and Collins (or B.C. to friends) have been slumming in Charlottesville, Va. since the duo congealed in 1997. Serving up an oddball mix of original crud lovingly wrenched from of an ornery guitar and cello, B.C. continues to deliver a high energy, aggressive acoustic onslaught, veering from rock(-ish) to rag(-like) to punk(-some) to country(-esque) to latin(-oid) and back again. Or thereabouts.
Now going on their fifth year of Sundays at Charlottesville's semi-infamous Miller's Downtown, Barling and Collins continue to impress hardcore radicals, drunks and the generally silly people who understand the deeper cultural ramifications of trash-talking and carrying on. With a cello.
Local rag "C-Ville" once noted "B.C. may come across as the logical heirs to Tenacious D, but give 'em a chance -- they're better."
