A small collection of TV-Spots which use our music repertoire:
Why? Who? Where?
Originally incorporated by Mark Chung in 1986 to administer the copyrights of German avantgarde artists Einstürzende Neubauten as effectively as possible, Freibank later began to offer its swift and efficient copyright collection and administration services to other musicians and expanded through the 90s to incorporate press, club and sales promotion, artist and sales marketing, setting up editions and label deals for several local and international independents. Meanwhile we handle copyright matters for a catalogue of some 25'000 works with a broad variety of musical styles, however, with an emphasis on alternative bands, the progressive forms of contemporary dance music like drum´n´bass, techno, house and hip-hop, as well as other genres like world and ambient music.
More & Faster
Maximizing the writers income has been one of our key targets right from the beginning. In fact, we started the company because we had come to the conclusion that the traditional ways of collection and distribution of copyrights are too slow and expensive, creating great disadvantages for the writers. To improve this, we introduced the system of direct collection of mechanicals from record companies in Germany, became direct members in the copyright collection societies of the key markets in continental Europe and speeded up accounting and payment effectively. In order to control copyrights worldwide we formed an international network of partner publishers covering all relevant territories securely (Europe, USA, Australia, Japan).
