About Me

Who are "The Deadly Deaths"?
Nick Feisst, Bevan Galbraith and Tuhua Mutu....

Ok that tells us your names, but who are "The Deadly Deaths"?
Oh you mean like a figurative or metaphorical "who"?

Something like that....how about we call it a question of "self-definition"
Ok ummm, alright....The Deadly Deaths are a 3 piece band, based in Hamilton NZ, who play their own brand of restrained indie synth pop....

Restrained? What the hell does that mean? Can restrained even be used to define a sound?
Hey you asked for self-definition....Restrained in the sense that we don't like to smash you over the head with screaming vocals. Rather with our current material we instead prefer to evoke a sense of the bittersweet with soft harmonies, but who knows? We might feel like trying the "angst" angle in the future....

Right....because there aren't enough of those bands right now.... What music does a Deadly Death listen to for inspiration?
Kraftwerk, The Knife, Pink Floyd, The Dandy Warhols and Pinback would be major influences. Borrowing bits and pieces from each of these bands (not literally, we're not into sampling), we write songs that we hope will get you nodding your head rhythmically upon first listen, and then each subsequent listen should reveal something new for your aural appreciation.

Isn't that kinda for the audience to determine?
True, but I think that The Deadly Deaths material is less of the "bubblegum instant pop hit" and more of the "songs that grow on you" style of music.

Do you think that you might have just killed your chances of commercial viability with that last comment?
Maybe....but The Deadly Deaths are here to stay....

Cool....
I know....
