About Me
IF YOU'RE SENDING A FRIEND REQUEST, SEND ME A MESSAGE TOO, because I don't have time to visit a thousand different myspace pages every day to see who you are. I will not blindly add "friends" so, please, lemme know who you are and what you're about, okay? Thank you. If you're down, then I will add you, IF you let me know that you're down.

In the tradition of emcees and teachers before him, such as Chuck D, KRS-ONE, M1 and stic.man, X-Clan, The Last Poets and others, Rev1 brings a strong social and political message to the stage in addition to raw beats, rhymes, and hip hop life. Taking on the criminal justice system, the music industry, the mainstream media, neo-conservatives, and of course, wack emcees, Rev1 (nee Che, after the revolutionary) infuses his shows with hard hitting, intelligent lyrics and the improvisational crowd rocking that separates real hip hop emcees from phony rappers.
Rev1's debut album, "WMD" won two SoundOff awards in 2004 -- Best Hip Hop Album and ..3 Album of the year. Rev1 has appeared on stage with Naughty by Nature, Breez Evahflowin, Tame One, is featured on the Emissarius compilation album, and the Mr.E's Productions Intellect Sampler album, and has received numerous awards at emceeing competitions, including, Best Overall Emcee at Grab A Mic II.
Rev1 is a founding member of the collective Cypher:Dissident.

Rev1 is also fond of speaking of him/myself in the third person.
WHAT WHAT!!!On the real, I know a lot of bands just put their profile up to compare page hits and listens and friends and the like, but that's not me. I'd rather live my life OFFLINE, so I'm not really into myspace scores. If you're feeling the music and message, hit me up. If you're feeling the movement, hit me up. If you're down for the cause, hit me up. If you're into supporting the infrastructure of oppression, through complacency or overt action, then, please, DON'T hit me up. Believe it or not, I actually visit every page I get a friend request from. I'm not trying to be bougie, I'm just not messing with ish that don't move me.
