22 year old rapper/actor CONFUCIUS MC was born and raised in South East London. His colourful mix of story telling, social comment and a wizardry with words make him one of the most exciting and important artists currently working in the underground. At a time where the fusion of hip hop beats and the spoken word has become a very easily mimiced feat, the knowledge and skill held within CON's verses are a refreshing step away from the often one-dimensional lyricism currently inhabiting the industry.Born to a teacher and a musician, his early musical education ranged from soul legends such as Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Curtis Mayfield and Aretha Franklin to The Beatles, to melodic rumba flamenco group The Gipsy Kings. But it was the purchase of The Wu-Tang Clan's 'Enter the 36 Chambers' in 1998 that determined the musical direction CONFUCIUS would take. After years of sharing lyrics with just the pen and the pad, CON got with a group and began recording; but as ever in this turbulent industry things fell through, and CON began recording solo.Now in 2007 CON's debut mix-tape 'The Sage' is the platform for a series of exciting and challenging projects including 'The Labyrinth' , expected to be released independantly in the forthcoming future.
