"Ear Piercing for Babies" (EP4B) was formed in London at the beginning of 2006 by singer Carole Denis from London and guitarist/singer Joep Berkenbosch from Amsterdam. The duo writes and plays a brand of funk/rock music they call "Power Funk". Tight grooves and heavy guitar/bass riffs provide the platform for improvised solos and the powerful vocals of Carole and Joep. Travelling back and forth between Amsterdam and London the two have been working with several different rhythm sections in both cities since the beginning of last year. They recorded their 1st demo in Amsterdam in july ’06. On sunday august 27th 2006 "Ear Piercing for Babies" made its debut at the famous free music festival "Uitmarkt" in Amsterdam where EP4B were the closing act on the main outdoor stage on Waterlooplein. Check out the videos below! On march 18th 2007 EP4B played the Melkweg in Amsterdam as part of the impressive line-up of the "Jam in the Dam" festival. Playing to an audience mainly comprised of American music lovers the band held its own and even managed to stand out among established acts like Keller Williams and Galactic. The latter were so impressed with the duo that they invited Carole and Joep to jam with them on stage!! Pictures of EP4B at JITD will be posted soon.
