For some time the word Denim has been synonymous with apparel lines and clothing brands, well... until now. Armed with a brilliant mind, fashionable swag and unforgettable voice, the artist Denim is set to be next on your shortlist of people to watch.
Born to an African American mother and father of Trinidadian and Japanese decent, Denim has been singing and entertaining all of her life. First heard at a very young age by famed hip-hop producer Just Blaze, Denim soon became a highly regarded artist in the industry. The consummate performer, it wasn’t long before she caught the eye of record execs at Roc-A-Fella Records, swiftly becoming part of the dynasty. Her attention to detail and creative flair set the stage for collaborations with artists the likes of Young Gunz, Freeway, Memphis Bleek, Beanie Sigel, Kanye West and Roc-A-Fella label head himself, Sean “Jay-Z†Carter. No stranger to production she has also penned songs for British pop star Victor Beckham.
Carving out her niche Denim is currently in the studio hard at work on her new, album, which includes tracks from hit maker Polow Da Don and up and comers Clyde and Harry of Matrax Music. When it comes to this entertainer expect the unexpected. “If we told you what she’s doing in the studio right now, you wouldn’t believe us!†boasts an industry insider. An eclectic sound and energy all her own her musical vibe is infectious, married perfectly with beats and melodies her recent compositions catch you out there.
