Music is My Life:With a Unique sound and style, Tyrone Ellis is claiming his right as one of the greatest voices to be heard to date.Like most singers, Tyrone began singing at an early age in his grandfathers church. Even at that age, his voice and spirit moved all who heard him. He may not have known then what was in store but everyone that heard him knew he was a singing force not be reckoned with.His first opportunity to perform outside of church was at the age of 7 @ the Pathway Lounge which led to his first audition: To name a few at age 14 his first professional gig was a Musical Director that lasted 5 years @ a sleep away Summer Camp for disabled children. At age 16 he wrote and sung the title track Youll find it in Jesus w/ the Jersey City Mass Choir. Then went on as a featured opening act for the gospel play My Grandmother Prayed and starred in the play, The Streets Cant Have My Son, written and directed by Carl Hicks Jr.Throughout his career, he has done studio/session work for such artist as The Fine Young Cannibals, Wyclefs Melkey Sedek, K-Star, Run DMC & Barbara Tucker. His television credits include, Soul Train, Jenny Jones, CBS Morning Show, Ananda Lewis, Good Day New York, BET Live, NBA Jam Sessions, 106 & Park, Apollo, & The Source Lab.
Ellis has worked with only the best in industry, Patti Labelle, Mary J Blige, KC & JoJo, Michelle Williams of Destinys Child, & R Kelly, and Gospel Artists Bebe Winans and Kim Burrell. He is currently touring with the legendary Stephanie Mills.
One of his biggest & greatest accomplishments musically was an over the phone audition that got him the gig as background singer & Vocal Director for Dave Hollister. He thanks all whove had a hand in his career along the way but make no mistake hes on the rise Ty is music, music is Ty.
