About Me

Alison awarded Folk Rock Track of the Day on Garageband.com

Are you on my side? awarded Pop Rock track of the Day on garageband.com
the c a l m have been together now for over two years. Founders Max Comeau and Rachel Diabo have been playing the Montreal scene looking for fellow musicians to join them in their quest for the perfect sound. Gifted guitarist Derek Olive joined their ranks in the fall of 2005 and added a certain flavor and complexity to the sound.'You'll be Happy to Know', 'Early Mornin High', 'Night Train' and 'Castle of Pain' are a few of the C a l m's originals that have garnered attention and rave reviews from the Montreal music community and the band is looking forward to releasing their official debut album shortly which is its early mixing stages. The Calm's style has often been compared to the sound of the 1970s singer-songwriter movement, but lately, things have been spicing up quite a bit with the coming of a dynamite rythm section composed of Matt Legroulx on bass and Yves 'Bam-Bam' Dumontier on drums. Suddenly, tempatures are rising and people are starting to want to get up and dance to songs like 'Boyfriend' and the ultimate wig-out, 'Are You On My Side'. Who knows what the future holds for these five dreamers... stay tuned!
