Who are the jolies Alien babes?(en francaise suivent)

It all started with one English girl and one French girl from the lower laurentiens, Quebec, Canada. Jody Anker (writer and composer) and Nakia Lemieux (spirited musical babe) make up the original alien connection here. After an evening of blowing their minds on high vocal notes, these girls came up with their new identity, jolies Alien babes (A.K.A The JAB). A little bit about the writer; Jody Anker, was born on Vancouver Island, reared by Robert Anker, a lifetime logger, and Lorraine Erickson, a Métis mother. Both parents rearing their children with a love for music, nature and the arts. She moved to the rugged outback of Northwest Territories at 8 years old when her mom found job teaching music. Anker came to Montreal from Yellowknife in 1995 and has settled in rural Quebec since 6 years (yes she learnt to listen in French fluently and gets by speaking). Together, the girls create a live energy, that is a cross between warmth and rebel. Some call it sexy; some call it tough love. The Girls like to think of it as a place to channel, twist, weave and turn, apon this great gig called EARTH!

In the fall of 2006, Jody and Nakia, caught the ears and eyes of a renowned Montreal Engineer. This year the Jolies Alien Babes are working together with Barney Beninger and Carlos Ramirez co-producing Jody's music within and under these two men's fresh Independent label, TBD Records. They will be launching a full length CD this SPRING of 2009. Their sound??? ‘Tough to categorize...always mesmerizing!’ Or as one man put it Indigo Girls on...???(Your drug of choice)’.

The self titled album, has a group of stellar musicians mixing it up. It is graced with the likes of, Nakia Lemieux, lead vocal partner, Robert Kraft on Drums, Shian Ramjohn on Bass, Edward Stevens, electric and acoustic guitars, Luc Murphy plays flute and sax, and Carlos Ramirez plays synthesizer keyboards bringing ambiance to the JAB's growing soundscape.
