Georgia Purcell

Before i start....so i did the whole write my bio as a third person kinda thing but then i thought- who am i trying to kid Georgia- stop trying to be all pro and just do the norm.
So here we go. Hey, my name is Georgia and i'm a 23 year old singer/songwriter and i also play the guitar.
I've been performing since the age of three starting with dancing and moved onto singing at the age of 11. I have had some amazing experiences in my life so far, one of them living in England for 6 months working on a cruise ship as a performer; singing and dancing- wow what an experience that was!! After spending the time cruising to Spain, France, Ireland and England i decided to head home to work on my true passion of singing, songwriting and playing the guitar.
Moving onto the G.Tar, I started playing the good old Guitar at the age of 10 for a couple of years, until i started whinging and whining (like a typical child) to my beautiful mother saying, "I don't want to go to lessons anymore"- by the way my teacher was a little freaky...but mum did the usual "you'll regret giving it up Georgia", and of course i stopped and yes i regret it alright! After having a break though, my burning passion came back three years ago and i haven't put it down since.
I come from a large family being one of six children and suffer from middle child syndrome haha. By the way, i love having such a big family i feel so fortunate to never have privacy and to have some part of my belongings taken off me almost every day.....hahaha no i'm just kidding, i wouldn't give it up for the world. There is never a dull moment in my wild house hold and that's the way i like it.
After spending time gigging around the Sydney circuit and working as the lead singer on the Sydney Showboat, I decided to take the big leap over to the other side of the world to New York City. I spent three months in that amazing city gigging around my original music (just me and my guitar) at some of the most popular music venues. That has been one of the best life choices i have made so far. After gaining interest from a particular producer and an independent label my time was up to get my butt home.
Idealy, I would love to see myself signed with an Australian label some time very soon.
My music is about life, love, loss and everything major that happens in my own life of experiences. I focus on writing about things that i am 100% passionate about and i spill my heart from my love of songwriting and honesty.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
