The History of Dawsons
Dawsons Music is one of the longest serving music retailers in the U.K., established in 1899 in Warrington in the North West of England. Over many successful years of trading Dawsons has changed many times, in order to reflect the buying trends of the day.
The time of biggest change was in 1979 when the Dawsons family sold the company, and the new owners set about changing the way the business was structured.
Of all the multiple outlet chains in the U.K., Dawsons has one unique advantage, we sell all things musical, to all type of musicians. Most music retailers in the U.K. have become more specialised in their approach, however our vision is to be the most efficient, pro-active and customer focussed organisation in the industry.

Dawsons Reading
Formed in November of 2005 Dawsons quickly establised its self as the prime mover and shaker in the Reading/Berkshire area. With it's subtle blend of soulfull Jazz, earthy Blues and kick ass Rock all woven around an intricate Orchestration of Strings, Brass and Keys. Crisply layered into Recording heaven...
And all this from one cavernous music store.
What else can we say, come along for the ride, it's bumpy but fun!! Oh yes we are the finest Music store in the country, and part of the famous DAWSONS music empire.
We thank you...

Have some songs? Have a band song you're desperate to place everywhere on the net?
Send us your song in mp3 format, to here , and we'll enter it into our song cycle - aka free promotion for you! Just make sure you also send us a little comment stating you give us permission to use your song on our page, and all is good!
We can't accept songs with inappropriate content or swearing in, and all songs are checked before uploaded :)
Got some gigs going on?
Unfortunately, we don't have the time to check everyone's page... send us your gig details, by message or email, and we'll place them up on our calender! Like WOOSH they there are!
Got a band or company banner?
Send us the image or image url and we'll also place that up on our website - in rotation ;)
Got band flyers or posters?
In store we have flyers and a place for your event poster to be placed up - just pop on down, have a chat!
Got some tickets for your event to sell?
We also do that! We don't take a single penny from you - we simply receive the tickets from you, advertise them in store and online, (and presumably, so would you to sell tickets!) and then at the end of the day (after or on the day of the event) you pop down, collect alllllll of your money and the rest of the tickets... and all is good!
