About Me

I love this sketch!. I can eat planets! Brilliant!

A little info about some of the music I've written:
Yeah Nah it's good
This song was an experiment with C minor tuning on my acoustic. When I first got a Cole Clarke acoustic guitar I was amazed at how good it sounded plugged in. This tune started with me noodling in the studio. The idea bug had begun and I had no time to mic up acoustics. i thought to myself whatever I come up with I'll replace later. The main acoustic part in this song I kept in the end. Here's the tragic part. Since putting this part down, Qantas ran over the guitar with one of their luggage tugs.I discovered this at sound check in Sydney just before a Vanessa Amorosi gig. It's a horrible feeling to lose an instrument like this. Anyway I haven't really come up with a title for this song so I'm going to have a competition for all my Myspace friends to come up with one for me. Have a listen to the song and message me your title. You won't actually win anything, accept the title you give, may be immortalized along with a piece of music forever. What more could you want?
Heart Trouble
This tune is my tribute to Jeff Beck! He is one of my all time favorite guitar players! No matter how much I practice I'll never be as good a guitar player as that man! Sorry kids, that's just how it is, I've accepted this!! Most people wouldn't know this but I used to have a Heart condition called Wolf Parkinson White, which required an operation in my early 20's. My life was on hold for a good part of a year, which gave me a lot of thinking time. I'm fine now physically, but unfortunatly when concerning matters of the heart there's always going to be issues an operation can't fix. Sounds corny I know but hey I'm a softie at Heart. This one goes out to all the ladies who've given me Heart Trouble, you have no idea who you are.....................And I"m not telling!!!.................. I'm using my new Ulbrick Stadium 80 Oxblood 2/12 combo!! Thanks Dave it's a OXBLOODY Beauty!!!

Monkey Fingers
I wrote this when I was 17 years of age. I always wanted to have hands like Steve Vai or Allan Holdsworth. I wanted their talent too!!! Seeing I had neither, I set about writing a tune that would challenge my chops at the time. I had a short attention span so the tune only goes for 2 mins 53 secs. At live gigs I tried to extend solos and add sections thinking it would help, but the original form seems to work best. The version you hear on my site is one I did a few years ago. I had just set up my new studio and needed a few test songs as I was learning the new gear. I called in my mate John Salerno to play the drums, he already knew the tune. It all happened in one afternoon!!

New begining
I remember seeing a video of the Modern Drummer Festival that featured Will Kennedy with the Yellow Jackets. I can't recall the name of the tune they played but it had a great GROOVE!! It inspired me to get on the Drumkit and try and emulate that feel..... Through my failure I created a New groove which inspired me to get on the keys and punch out a few chords and it went on from there.......This was the first tune I wrote after my band SHMIK broke up. I was starting to get positive again hence the title. A New Begining was only ever peformed live with the next band I formed with David Jones, Glen Cannon and Luke Howard called SPHINX....... Though we had more rehearsals than gigs this band was too much fun.... I experienced musical freedom for the first time, I'm continuing to try and make this a habit. Sharing a similar fate to Monkey Fingers, I used New Begining as a test song in my new studio a few years later. The photo of the little girl when you click on the song is my God Daughter Lili... No particular relevance to the song, she's just really cute!!! I mean look at those cheeks!!! Hehehehehe!!!!

Supression
This track came about after watching a movie called Bad Company with Anthony hopkins and Chris Rock... I believe Trevor Rabin did the music. Once again in an inspired state of mind, I began churining out ideas one after the other. It took another four hours and it was done.... I love action Movies!!!! The photo when you click on the track is a picture of my cat Linus another Q.T.......
