About Me

I didn't started DJ'ing until I was in my early 20's after walking out of a demanding job and having a lot of free time upon my hands as a result (maybe not my best idea!) I already had a few records, but was never able to afford the decks to play them on, and when I could I just didn't have the time (a catch 22 situation), but was always having a go upon other peoples when the opportunity arised (but always wanted to be involved with the music and started out as an MC).I have been into the music since 1991 (when I was 12) first hearing certain tunes in the charts, then getting hold of live tapes from events and listening to the pirate radio stations of the time. As I mentioned before I started off as an MC (due not being able to afford decks and wanting to be part of the scene). Within a couple of months of having my decks I started to play parties, then radio shows and clubs.More recently I teamed up with my friend Will (who DJ's under the name of White-E) and started an event called Retroactive. We felt that there was nothing in the home counties catering for those who were into the more underground sounds of Oldskool, Hardcore Breaks and Drum & Bass Jungle classics. We have so far done a couple of events featuring guests such as Glenn Aston and DJ Snypa. For more info check out www.freewebs.com/retroactive-oldskool
