Reign is the “Phoenyx†born of the death and fire that consumed an old life once lived. The phoenix represents our capacity for vision, for collecting sensory information about our environment and the events unfolding within it. This mythical creature, with its great beauty, creates intense excitement and undying inspiration.
A gifted vocalist, spoken-word artist, writer and designer, Reign has been inspired to bring her love of the word, contemporary and urban art, nature, the richness of diverse cultures, and the heritage of the past into perfect synergy with her unique style. Her vocal ability has been compared to the likes of Rachel Ferrell, the late Phyllis Hyman, and other great soul singers. Unable to sing for most of her life, Reign has a God given voice that stirs the listener to the depth of their soul. Her writing falls nothing short of being an outpouring of her deepest life experiences. In addition to publishing an online magazine of her own, she is a member of the Black Men In America.com Team where she has a regular poetry page, and also writes two regular blogs on myspace. You can see her on stage at local venues across the DC Metro area, and she’s always available to help others find and utilize their gifts.
