"Caisson are an intelligent band with music to match. Its honest, bright and easy to listen to. They are still developing their dynamics. They should listen to The Stills to see how its done."

"I always think that it is slightly unfair that so much emphasis is put on the front man, as the front man at the end of the day is only as good as his band! As the lead vocalist is often what people associate with a band (think Chris Martin in Coldplay or Dave Grohl in Foo Fighters), they really often have the ability to make or break a band and it is therefore important that you choose your lead wisely. Nick is an excellent frontman and a credit to Caisson. He has a good look and more importantly a very strong voice with a good range and a versatility that makes them stand out from other bands that I have seen recently in their genre. (Which by the way is good old fashioned rock!) This band seem really comfortable on stage and what I liked about watching them was how much they looked like they were enjoying themselves. (Especially Al (bassist), who had a permanent smile on his face!!) There is nothing worse then going to see a band who remain resolutely miserable throughout the set, looking at times as is if they would be anywhere rather then up on stage. That often transfers to the audience and makes you too want to be anywhere else other than watching said band on stage not so with Caisson. Genuine enthusiasm and love of music shines through which is clearly contagious if the reaction of the crowd is anything to go by! Good strong guitars and some crashing drums they certainly rocked my little area of London!
Just one minor criticism though at the risk of sounding like a Mother GIGS, I didn't like Nick's potty mouth! Don't get me wrong, there is nothing more satisfying then a well placed swear word. I just think that the littering of the f word in the set was somewhat inappropriate for the situation and I don't also think that it suits the band. It also draws attention away from what he was saying which is quite important for us to hear we have said this to so many bands but it is really so important to say the band name as many times as possible!
I very much look forward to introducing Riv to Caisson. That's if she can get past Caisson's fans. I had to patiently queue to say goodbye to Nick, while he signed autographs! That's the first time that I have seen that at an unsigned band night and does speak volumes about the calibre of the band. My first solo G.I.G.S mission was a success and thank you to Caisson for being so friendly!

"Caisson were next on. They sure did produce a lot more light and shade than their previous appearance and glad they took Tube Club advice. Without blowing our own trumpet - they sounded like a million dollars and its great to see that happen. We know more than most about what makes a band sound good. These were professional and they are nearly at the stage to get picked up...by a label that is! (see them at our Monopoly night in November). "

" 1st up was Caisson who played a tuneful pop'n'roll. They had a pretty good fanbase and were a good band with a good singer. Their sound was quite commercial and our only tip would be that they add a little spice to the proceedings - the singer can apparently do so much more, and lets face it rock'n'roll is not about being in the comfort zone...
