Zack B. Hectic

Zack has been creating music since before he learned long division, following a wide range of musical traditions from these shores and abroad. He currently slaps the upright bass (also known as the stand-up bass, doghouse bass, string bass, double bass, bull fiddle, and bass fiddle) with Sacramento's rockabilly upstarts The Tip Top Trio. The Sacramento Bee's Marcus Crowder has eloquently referred to his "nifty bass work" while journalistic rivals at the Sacramento News & Review have praised his "strong singing and playing." Past musical credits include: The X-ists, The Shakin' Shadows, The Projectiles, The Meek, The Jimmy Hoffa All-Stars (briefly), MCZ: The Funky Cowboy, Monday Night Hip Hop, The Walking Dead (SAMMIE Nominees 2006), The Seven Arms of Shiva, Ready Set Go, Prime Rib Dinner, Woody Guthrie's American Song (City Theatre), and A Christmas Carol (Sacramento Theatre Company). He is currently playing with Sean Bollinger and of course the aforementioned TIP TOP TRIO. Zack has played everywhere from dive bars and clubs, to The Empire, The Crest Theatre, and Temple B'Nai Israel. Zack recently has relocated to San Francisco, California.
