Hmmm, anything that I can't go to jail over. Anything that is worth while and interesting. I love to learn new things, or at least try them. I love history and art. I could go to every museum in the world and not be satisfied. Just along as it doesn't involve heights. I am terrified of heights, and worms but more about that later!
My new hobby. . .
No one in particular. Those that are my friends know who they are and that is enough for me. Of course, I love to meet new people as long as you don't turn out to be crazy or a bitch! Then I have to stab you and laugh. No really, don't like crappy people and I have no problem telling you. But if you know me, then you understand my ability to be brutally honest with people.I am too nice to a fault. I tend to help anyone out in need only to most likely be screwed over by them. But, in the end all I care about is that I am a good person.BR
Too many to list, but I am sure that you can guess. Rockabilly, Psychobilly, oldies (pretty much anthing pre 1965), swing, punk rock. Even a little of vintage country. My all time favorite band is The Descendents!
Horror flicks, old movies and especially old B movies (Ed Wood is always a favorite). I am also a sucker for Disney movies. Ahh, memories of better times. Why can't life be like a Disney flick? Everything always turns out good in the end minus the whole dead parent thing!
I have an obsession with Cops and Law and Order. Maybe I am fortelling my future???? Na, just always watching Cops to see if I find any of my relatives. I have a secret desire to become a lawyer. Maybe some day, I can be the next Ally McBeal, but only with curves!! Ok I admit it, I also love Project Runway and America's Next Top Model. Office and My Name is Earl are always good! Simpsons, American Dad and Family Guy rock! But then again, who has time for TV lately??
Anything that is about graveyard ghost stories or history. I love history! I also love cheesy CSI books. Again with the cops and robbers scenario! Oh yes, Edgar Allan Poe. I fell in love with him in the 7th grade when I had to memorize and recite Annabel Lee for extra credit. I also adore Oscar Wilde. Really, I just love to read! I look forward to my summer breaks from school because I get the chance to catch up on my reading.
My heroes are strong females that can rise above dire situations instead of following the status quo. My heroes are those that don't use their childhood as an excuse for their current behavior. My heroes are mothers who love their children and would sacrifice everything just for them to have something better than they did.
Sadly I haven't know too many of these types of heroes, nor do I see them emerging on a regular basis. However I aspire to be a hero to someone everyday.
I hate hearing data that says most men are in jail today because they grew up in a fatherless home. Bullshit, they are in jail today because they are idiots and choose what they thought was the easy way to make a living. Rather than bust their ass and get an education and job like civilized society, they chickened out. Phooey on them. Of course I speak from personal experience on this one seeing it happen first hand, so I guess you could say that I am biased. Oh well, guess it is just my personal view point on my own family, lazy asses that they are (except a few and you know who you are)!
My heroes are my grandmother, my sister, my best friend Mieke and myself. Yes I can say myself. A hero is someone who has faced something horrific in their life and had to make a decision, do I better myself and thus the world I live in or do I follow status quo and become what is expected? All of these women have decided to become better people and work hard at it on a daily basis. Sadly my grandmother is no longer with us so I can not express my feelings to her, and I hate that. I do tell my sister and Mieke how they have inspired me to become a hero to someone and I love them dearly. Without them in my life, I would not be the great person that I am today. I thank them here and everyday!
Enough of my soapbox.
My little sis is my hero:
