Fargo, Monster, Million Dollar Baby, Scared Straight, 25th Hour...New Jack City..and a thousand other movie titles.
Food Network, Link TV, National Geographic, Channel Thirteen (PBS), BET J (seems like the trying to take it in another direction..i'm hopeful, VH1 Soul, Word Network, Fine Living TV, HGTV..Small Space Big Style is my Favorite show...if you ever lived in NYC and had a small space, had a lot of stuff and wanted to make it look stylish, this is your show..lately its been AWOL..okay HGTV get it together..a sistah needs some new shows!!, Bravo's Inside the Actors Studio, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.. BET Classic Movies, HBO (Bill Mahr especially) and Carnival are my 2 favorite shows. The BBC, Discovery Health Channel, the Tavis Smiley Show, Charlie Rose, E Holywood Story...don't front..you know you watch it too.
Too many ancestors..from too many parts of the globe, living bravely, fighting the crucial fights.If I had to pick 3 persons and one band... it would be Ossie Davis (God bless him from the other side), Cornel West, Angela Davis and Earth Wind and Fire...over time...these people have CONSISTENTLY loved being black, respected all human kind with justice and loved honoring other black people and the struggle to honor ourselves.If I invited them to a dinner party ,i really beleive despite their great presence, vision and intellegence , they would be down to earth, salt of the earth people. Not only would they talk about community building, I spiritually know they would unprentiously say "come build our world with me."Heros not only make you want to live among them..they also encourage you to be a hero to someone else and most importantly yourself...
