LANE ARNDT, A Bio.An ardent pursuit of music beginning at age 13 led multi-instrumentalist/composer/improviser Lane Arndt through the usual self-indulgent-guitarists development into the post-secondary academic process. Emerging after seven years with a head full of ideas/ideals, a nearly-complete Masters degree in music theory from the University of Western Ontario as well as an undergraduate degree in Jazz studies from St. Francis Xavier University, the last ten years of gestation, assimilation and voracious creative output have formed the heart of Mr. Arndts musical focus. ____________________________________________________________ ______________ As an everyday composer, player, teacher, producer and multi-instrumrntalist, Lane Arndts commitment to the art, style and practice of music is singularly determined. Ranging from experimental sound design to jazz-/free-improvisational styles to pop/contemporary/indie/roots songwriting, recording and production projects, there is a unique vision of musical development which unites the disparate genres of his interest. Lane Arndt is above all else committed to making music that stirs the imagination, the soul, the intellect and especially the heart.

Sounds Like: the incredible sad-happy-ness of a life lived through a series of broken hearts and hearts broken...rainy days and puppy dog kisses. like my kitty cat licking your eye. like a hug from gramma. like the totally acceptable end of your peaceful existence. like the winter you never want to see happen and the spring you never want to see end. like the moment your heart simultaneously goes 'swoon' and 'snap'. all the subtle maddening paradoxes of life in the new century. Like a jazz musician who really just wants to connect with people's souls and so he plays folk music most of the time.
