About Me

A Canadian citizen since '86, Dave's family moved to Alberta from Thatcher's England, when many collieries, steel works, and potash mines were shut. Dave enjoys: performing live, listening to people's stories, writing songs and showing off his horrible English teeth. Dave lives, works and plays in Fort McMurray Alberta. Dave is a teacher and a singer/songwriter that loves to see people particpating in music, and is fascinated with how music builds and influences communities.
“Your lyrics are profound and your music the most creative I have heard in this genre… It is impossible to listen to this song without “getting” the impact of the idea expressed… This song represents the epitome of creativity… This song really belongs in… the category of folk – classical art song. This is creativity at its best – knowing the “rules” but not being bound by them.” M. Eddy, re: “Show Me”
"It was an even greater pleasure for me to hear your songs, that so obviously come from the heart. ... There is nothing that stirs my heart and mind more than a person who has both feet planted firmly on terra firma and understands and who possesses the quality of writing for the souls of others. It's a gift." P. Sinclair
"...It is impossible to listen to this song without understanding every word and understanding the sentiment ... an interesting song that expresses lyrics in unusual and powerful ways." M. Eddy, re: "I Gain"
"Your lyrics are fantastic... You expressed in this analogy a truism and deep understanding, which you passed along to the listener... The chords and vocal line express what you have to say in a unique way... leaves the listener thinking." M. Eddy re: "Splinter" and "I Have My Doubts"
"...If great poetry is defined as using a few words to express profound ideas, then this is great poetry. There were no wasted words - new depth to the listener's understanding was added at each turn of the phrase. There were many interesting melodies and the piece had good continuity..." M. Eddy re: "451"
