Influences: when everything slows down, and we all take a deep breath. it all settles to the bottom. we can see where it all lies. ambitions, tasks at hand, tasks at a groping reach away. tasks that demand travel, through other tasks, worries, dreams, responsibilities, basic necessities, and complex analysis. a few steps could take a lifetime. or not. my life, and the action of 'living' therein, boils down to two thick sediments. plans. necessities. the latter is a hurdle, while the former flees me. even the thought of the whole matter drowns me in a hopelss futility. i begin to sink. i'm so tired. it's when i find my rest in Jesus that i begin to float. i know this is true. even still, i allow myself to crumple under it all. i'm tied down by my own knots. i can untie them if i wished, but who knows what goes beyond all this, these dreams i dream quietly. if not this music, this outreaching into a misty nimbus, grabbing at angel's ankles to pull them down and force knowledge out of them, the very sharing of knowledge, of gospel - "good news, Jesus is alive!", then what is there at all? what would i do otherwise. go to school? learn? work. perhaps it has to be music, i'm all in as is, soaked from head to toe, and i left my towel a far way away. all that, dear reader, that's today speaking. things are different some days. it feels an awful lot like wind chasing today though.
