About Me


Edmonton musician Daniel Moir’s songs have been described by many as far beyond his years, the 18-year old folk/pop artist fronted Edmonton’s own Orange in the Light before the group disbanded in February 2007. In a short time Daniel has developed a reputation as a solo artist for his notable song writing, honest vocals, intricate guitar work and multi-instrumental abilities with the release of his debut EP, “the Country and the Sea”.
The Country and the Sea was recorded in Vancouver, BC, with producer Tom Dobrzanski. Tom has worked on notable projects such as Said the Whale’s debut album, various Hey Ocean material, the Painted Birds and other notable Vancouver acts. The EP was mastered in Toronto by Phil Demetro (Sloan, Hawksley Workman, the Trews, etc.), and features some of Vancouver's best talents, such as Cary Pratt (Said the Whale, Prairie Cat, etc.) on drums as well as Adaline adding accompanying vocals. The album was released on November 1st, 2008 and is currently in rotation on college radio across Canada as well as recieving recognition from CBC. The release provoked the attention of good press and new fans. Daniel continues to write, record and perform on stages across Canada.
