Not really sure how a biog should go but…
First thing I’ll say is our influences - Jeff Buckley, Nirvana, Silverchair, Pearl Jam, Chilies, Q.O.T.S.A, Rage, Muse...obviously I could go on forever but…oh hang on Metallica as well! ok that’s it…no…Korn, Slipknot, Deftones. Ok I’ll stop, but that should give you the general idea...System of a down...of what we sound like, Not James Blunt.
We’re a 4 piece rock band, me and Ant (bass) have been friends forever and after developing a love for all things grunge started to learn our instruments together. We’ve been jammin ever since and created a unique sense of musical telepathy between us that is the base of the serenity sound. A few years ago we met lead guitarist Dervin who although smaller than most his guitars still plays them like they were attached to him from birth. His diverse musical tastes are routed in Prog Rock and with hero’s like John Petrucci, Jo Satriani and Steve Vai, he adds a polished, but most the time killer dimension to our sound. The the full line up formed in 2006 when Jon (Drums), with his ability to keep our songs chugging along like a human metronome behind the controls of a steam train and a strangely similar musical taste and attitude became the foundation of our sound.
Our shows are always very emotional and very intense, just like our songs. I find it impossible to write lyrics and music that isn’t incredibly personal to me.
Our mission is simple. No gimmicks, just music. Big songs, with big riffs, a lot of melody, and a punk rock heartbeat.
