About Me

Hey Mom, Dad, Ben, Jake, and Sam . . . (if you're not one of those people and you found this, r u stalking me? lol) I'm planning on adding lyrics and vocals to this smooth little ditty, but for now, I recorded the melodies on the guitar. I was so scared of hitting wrong notes, it was like 2AM and I didn't want to record it twice, so it's not my best guitar recording but I think it shows that I've come a long way. I actually recorded a guitar solo, wahoo! Anyway, I just wanted you to hear what I'm up to, thx to myspace. I also posted my recent Amazon reviews of various CDs. Comment back . . . Love you . . .

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: I auditioned lots of musicians for my one-woman band. To my surprise, only I made the cut.

Influences: The hit songs from the past half-century that everyone else also likes. In other words, guitar driven music and naughty hip-hop.
Sounds Like: A musician on training wheels.

My Blog

Cavernous soundscapes . . . intimate spaces . . .

Kings of Leon: Only By the NightThis album is appealing sensitive; the emotional terrain covered is subtle and complex, but Caleb's scruffy, impassioned voice keeps things from getting too soft. The...

Subtle, sophisticated down-tempo hip-hop and R&B

Missy Elliott: Supa Dupa FlySupa Dupa Fly is not a party album, which is saying something given that Missy Elliott is the Queen of party hip-hop. Instead, this album has an intimate, down-tempo feel...

So Passionate it Bleeds . . .

N.E.R.D.: In Search OfThis album is so passionate it's unsettling at times. There are moments that gave me goosebumps. These songs just had to come out, you can feel it. I liked the beats, the smoot...

Heartfelt album, these songs will grow on you . . .

Green Day: 21st Century BreakdownI had a hard time accepting this new album, as I loved American Idiot and didn't think it could be topped . . . further, I wasn't too excited about the whole "Christ...

This album made a fan out of me . . .

Marilyn Manson: Eat Me, Drink MeI think this album is lots of fun. It has enough weirdness and ghoulishness to sound like it came like Marilyn Manson, but it has a pop sensibility to it that makes i...

The worst show ever and what I learned from it!

Do you think Gwen Stefani will mind if I diss her show? Of course not. Speaking of Thanksgiving, she has enough ego to stuff a flock of turkeys and the only thing that keeps her act from being a tot...

Groovin flowers . . .

I hope you all like the groovin' flowers in the background. I drew them myself in Adobe Illustrator CS3 and they make me feel rather proud.
