Nothing can stop me! Not even braces!

About Me

I was born in a little town in Kansas that no one has heard of unless they’ve been there... Salina Kansas. I graduated from Salina Central High School. I then moved on to Hutchinson Community College (yet another small Kansas town) and began studying trumpet with Daryl Batchelor. There I received outstanding musicianship awards at the Wichita Jazz Festival every year we went and was part of the Intercollegiate Jazz and concert bands. In 2005 and 2006 I was honored to make it into the IAJE Community College All Star Jazz Band in Long Beach and in New York City. In June of 2005 I enlisted into the Kansas Army National Guard band. I love my country just as much as I love my music, so it just made sense. I currently attend Friends University in Wichita Kansas (a little bigger town). There I play in any band I can and I also pole vault on the track team. I’m planning to have my BA in Trumpet Performance from Friends U. by spring of 2009. After that, I’m going to audition for every military group I can until I make one. Until that happens... I have no clue what I’ll do. Maybe I’ll get a degree in photography, my other love. You can see samples of my portfolio in my picture albums. :) I’ve been very blessed in that I’ve had the opportunity to meet many of the most talented musicians around today. Check out my pictures! :)I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)

Playing the Trumpet with Braces

Everyone told me I was crazy. They tried to talk me out of it. While braces is not a smart move for someone who likes to play the trumpet... and play it high and loud, in my case, I had no choice. It ...
