DJ Sly has come a long way since his humble beginnings working as a steward for Fantasia & Headstrong. It was experiencing the atmosphere in these raves that made him want to become a DJ all those years ago
Sly began DJing way back in 1992 and began getting bookings at small local events with his good friend MC Shaydee and it wasnt long before he had managed to secure a booking at Paradise club in 93.
It was in 94 that Sly began a residency for Telepathy at Club UN and met up with the legendary MC Bassman of the Shadow Demon crew in 1996.
In 2001, MC $pyda decided to leave the Shadow Demon Crew and Sly & Shaydee were invited by Bassman and Trigga to become the London half of the Shadow Demon Coalition. Together, the 4 of them began to take bookings and forge their individual styles together to bring new levels of vibe to dances they touched down at.
Sly is identifiable from most other DJs by his unique style of double drop mixing in which he keeps two tunes playing simultaneously to make them sound like one continuous tune and specialises in creating bassliness so heavy it sends ravers running for cover!!
Sly has smashed up many an event including Raindance, One Nation, Dreamscape, World Dance, Designer Label Ball, Hysteria, Jungle Fever, Breakology, Faster, Champion Sounds to name a few Sly has also torn up dance floors in Germany, Switzerland & France!
He has maintained slots on many radio stations over the years, starting off on Unity FM before moving to the original Rude FM, Cyndicut, Flex FM, Addiction, Interface amongst others. He was on Origin FM for 4 years holding the Saturday 8 10 set before he and Shaydee moved over to the world renowned Kool FM in 2002. Sly and Shaydee can be heard on Kool every Thursday 9 11pm.
Fast forward to the present day and you will catch Sly in the studio producing his own tracks! He has produced The SDC anthem feat Trigga & Special Technique feat Bassman! And although neither track was released, they generated a great deal of interest and the response when they are dropped is phenomenal..
Now working with Ego Tripping, Sly has more tunes lined up. There is the track entitled Rowdee and Infra-Red which will both feature Triggas vocals and an as yet untitled tune featuring Shaydee et al.as well as some exciting collaborations! Watch this space!!!!!!!!
