Luke Matthews a.k.a. DJ L'Stylze is a man who observed the culture, and recognized the downward spiral that society has been experiencing. Growing up in the west side of Baltimore City, he quickly began to witness first hand the side affects of social depravity. One of the main engines used in keeping people seperated from the body of Christ has been music. Particularly, secular Hip-Hop Music and R&B music. Stylze himself recognized the internal struggle over making good sound decisions as a proclaimed christian, when he constantly listened to secular hip-hop and R&B music. And just like a lot of young christians, he felt there wasn't anything wrong with listening to songs from the likes of Biggie and Tupac etc., as long as you only focused on the beat and not the words. Afterwhile, he began to realize as long as you can hear the beat, you can hear the words. Just as the Bible states "Faith cometh by HEARING, and HEARING by the WORD of GOD." The same then goes for the word of the enemy. Stylze learned that when he constantly fed his mind with words that glorify violence, sexuality, and the Love of money, then those same ideals became rooted in his heart; being exposed to such content long enough will began to manifest itself in the form of immoral living, which is contrary to the Word of God. Seeking a means to combat the words of the enemy, Stylze began collecting and listening to holy hip-hop (HHH) and R&P (Rhythm & Praise). Facinated with the content, production and teachings of so many artists sold out for Christ, Stylze became more and more engrossed in his new music. Soon he noticed those everyday temptations and situations that we all are faced with everyday, were being dealt with from a biblical perspective. Stylze quickly realized because he was constantly listening to Christ centered music, the Word was getting into his heart and manifesting itself as fruit of the spirit. It was from that point on that Stylze wanted to share his music with everyone. Thus DJ L'Stylze, advocate for a liftestyle pleasing to the Lord was born. In 2005 Stylze along with his wife and manager Katrice Matthews started "Amped & Elevated DJ Services." A mobile DJ service that serves the Maryland/DC area with sound christian principles; playing only music that does not promote violence and immoral sexual behavior.Truly good music has always been defined by its content. And Stylze has taken his ever growing collection of christian music and presented it to the masses. Stylze has performed in front of the likes of Kierra "KiKi" Sheard, Braille, King Cyz, Sista Dee and Corey Red. It is his vision that the christian community will accept this movement as a viable resource in reaching the souls of this generation. Even though Amped & Elevated DJ Services is a business, ministry is at it's foundation. DJ L'Stylze continues to seek the face of God and prays that you will open your hearts and minds and be receptive to the messages within the movement.
