About Me
"Sarah Saville brought a performance full of beauty and melancholy with her three-octave range voice and I could see why Sarah had been billed as an incredible vocal talent. Obvious comparisons to Karen Carpenter leapt out, but Sarah has a voice and feel that is very much her own. A nervous vulnerability endeared her further to an audience that was already captivated...I was so impressed that I grabbed a copy of Sarah's impressive Acoustic Swan CD" Petersfield Post
"Superb vocal control...astounded the audience" Reel Sound Music
"Stunning cover versions" Bognor Regis Observer
"One of the joys of working in the industry is that there is always a chance you may come across something or someone unique. Sarah Saville definitely falls into this category. Her songs are excellent - the kind that worm their way into a little corner of your head, and stay there, popping back every now and then when you need a little stimulation, a little soothing, or even just something to hum sitting at the traffic lights. But its her voice - warm but powerful, with a deep resonant range that most singers would give their right arm for thats what really grabs you by the heart lungs head and soul, and once shes got you thats it!!" Iain Dunnet, Dunnet Wright Music
"Sarah Saville is a marvel to behold. As she hesitantly takes centre stage you are worried that she might break or crumble before your eyes, and then she lets rip with that voice. Sarah has a four octave range and the sweetest, child-like quality that is almost impossible to convey on the written page. And if this wasnt enough, she was joined on stage by Lewis Harding who is, in my humble opinion, one of the most technically proficient guitarists I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. Separately these two are brilliant artistes but collectively they become something so much more, with Lewis subtle and beautiful guitar floating in and out behind Sarah's haunting voice. It's enough to make a grown man cry." Kev Hardy, Titchfield Music Club
I began singing a few years ago and spent quite a while performing with covers and function bands at venues and events throughout the South of England. I had some great fun, but after my 1000th rendition of 'I will survive' I decided to try something a little different!
Since the beginning of 2005 I have taught myself to play the guitar and have since written 30 or so original songs. I started playing at open mics in Hampshire and Sussex and was surprised to find that people actually liked my stuff! Now I'm playing regular acoustic sets and have been lucky enough to perform in some great venues from Southampton through to Brighton. I still do the covers though and try to keep audiences guessing with stripped back renditions of modern classics such as 'Crazy' by Gnarls Barkley and 'Can't get you out of my head' by Kylie Minogue, as well as playing great songs from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and today - from Peggy Lee to Pink Floyd!! I'm aiming to perform at many more new venues in the coming year - wish me luck!
In 2006 I self-recorded and produced a 12-track live acoustic album comprising 100% original material, which has been snapped up at many of my gigs so far. Since then, with the help of a number of great producers, I have been working towards creating a 'proper' studio album to better communicate the spirit of my songs. I am currently working with producer Mike Fry - talented musician and all round great bloke - we hope to have a finished product by the end of 2008!
To top it off I'm having immense fun writing and recording vocal house with The Wide Boys - platinum-selling writers and producers who have collaborated with some big names, including Liberty X and The Sugababes. We're working on a portfolio of tracks, the first of which, 'What You're Thinking', has been released as a single on their 'Garage Jams' label. The single has gone on to sell well in vinyl format, but has also featured in the latest Ministry Of Sound Compilations 'Maximum Bass' and 'Garage Classics', the first of which achieved a top ten spot in the UK compilation chart :o) Listen out for me on the dance floor!
Thanks to everyone who has supported me so far. I've still got a long way to go (still waiting for the slot on later with Jools!), but I wouldn't have got this far without your kind words of encouragement :o)
