Playing guitar...while the fire burns!

About Me

NOTICE: THE TUNES ABOVE WERE RECORDED IN THE 80'S AND EARLY 90'S. NEW MATERIAL WILL BE PUT UP SOON. CHECK BACK. Born in Baltimore, MD I started playing guitar and writing music when I was 11. After moving to California, I was fortunate enough to live in an area that spawned numerous bands in the 70's. One of them was Blue Cheer, who I got see and hang around before they became famous. Taking a cue from them, I set out to create my own band. After many false starts, I finally hooked up with a school friend (Tony Rainier, whose brother was road manager for Blue Cheer) and we embarked on a journey that led us both in the same direction. That started my life's work, which led to Sammy Hagar, and eventually to the band that I have loved for the past 20 years. The Sheets. Amadeo Barrios, Pat Duffey, Jimmy Perito, Adrian Barrios and I created something special. One of those once-in-a-lifetime combinations of people coming together to create something that can't be duplicated. These guys were, and are, like my brothers. We played many shows across the U.S., and recorded untold amounts of songs. We were signed to a major label (whose name won't be mentioned) but were shelved after the A&R man who adopted us was downsized. We then put out our own album, which resulted in a lawsuit against The Rolling Stones over a copyright infringement. (WE WON!) But all of those things took it's toll on us. When we stopped playing in the 90's, a part of me died. I didn't play again professionally after that. Until now, that is. We recently found each other again, and are working on a new CD. And once again I feel a reason to play music. The only reason I have made this site is to direct you to The Sheets site. Listen to some of the old Sheets music there, and stay tuned for the new Sheets music. Oh, you can visit The Sheets at www.thesheets.org, or www.myspace.com/thesheetsalive, or www.jukeboxalive.com, or download.com. Stop by and say hello, and stay tuned for new songs.

Found My Brother

I found my brother (or I found his address and phone number) but haven't contacted him yet. That's the next big obstacle...figuring out whether to be pissed at him, or to be civilized. I guess I can...
