Breakin Even was originally set up as a club night in March 2001 by a trio of Promoters from Reading, UK. After a successful 1st year at Club Bay in Reading the boys then turned their attention to the production side of things and created the live act Breakin Even Collective, after some big gigs at The Big Chill, Beautiful Daze, Cargo and Neighborhood the night grew from strength to strength and just 1 year after starting the night they had moved to a 700 capacity club and were playing alongside the likes of Soul of man, B.L.I.M, Phil Hartnoll, Dreadzone, Dub Pistols, Lee Combes, Evil Nine and The Freestylers.
They have now set up the record label securing a distribution deal with Z Audio. After only being up and running as a label for one year, they were nominated in the Best Breakthrough Label catagory at The &th International Breakspoll Awards as well as being nominated for the same catagory this year. Things are rolling once again.
The label is primarily be a Breakbeat label but there is a lot of talent in the Breakin Even Collective and out there, so things will expand in different directions, who knows what will happen next, and which direction it will take. Thanks for your support!!!!!
