I'm a phone junkie. Its true; ever since I got my first mobile in 8th grade, I've never left my house without one.
So, I work for Phone Sherpa . I think the company is really awesome. We work with bands to create ringtone stores for band websites - this is great for increasing reach as the music gets sold on the networks of the major US operators and in over 130 countries. The band controls the music and pricing and we look after the delivery to several hundred phone models. My job is to be the customer service person for all the bands we work with. Its really fun to connect with cool people all over the world, I love my job.
Here it is! The new Phone Sherpa ringtone and wallpaper store. It is a completely secured Flash store that lets you sell your own music and art as ringtones and wallpapers. You control everything and there are no exclusivities or anything. This example is a ringtone store by Seattle's finest - Blue Scholars. Anything you buy here goes to them even though the store is on my page.
Here's a How-To list in case you're interested in selling your music as ringtones on your website:
1) Create Your Store
Go to Phone Sherpa Ringtone Store
Select a store package that suits your needs
Follow the steps to register your store per the web site directions
2) Login To Your Store Administration Pages
Once you have created your store, you must login to add items or modify the existing content in your store.
Login to your store at Phone Sherpa Partner Login You will now see an overview screen of your current store and a list of actions you can take to administrate your store.
3) Add Content
Add a new ringtone or wallpaper to your store using the navigation on the left side of the administration site
Add New Ringtone – for adding a new ringtone to your store
Add New Wallpaper - for adding a new wallpaper to your store.
Phone Sherpa also sells a cool ringtone maker service. Funny how hard that is to explain to people. Ok, here goes. You can make ringtones from your MP3s or CDs, whatever and send directly to your mobile phone. You can edit what part of the song you want to set as your ringtone. Since you already own your music it makes sense to not buy it a second time as a ringtone.
So, I should mention, its not a ringtone club and its a pay-once product so there's no recurring charges. We have quite a few fans that change their ringtone every day.
