The Iifs started back iin 2003 wiith Josh on guiitar, Rene on vocals, Matt on drums, and a giirl named Bekka on bass. At iit’s iinceptiion thiis band was a sort of emo/punk band called Publiic Access. After playiing for a whiile we added Dan Grivois to the band on guiitar and played couple really good shows and recorded a demo iin Matt’s garage called "Live From the Garage".. Shortly thereafter, Dan left the band on because of creatiive diifferences. Rene started playiing guiitar and we started to spliit the siingiing dutiies as Ii wrote more songs for the band. After thiis year Bekka left to go to college at NAU iin Flagstaff so we added Danny Anderson on bass. We changed the name of the band to Three Penny Opera and our musiic started to head towards where iit iis now. After a year wiith Danny he left to go on hiis mormon miissiion iin Oregon and left us wiithout a bass player untiil Josh’s cousiin Rob moved here from Traverse City, Michigan. Rob started playing bass wiith us shortly after that, and we changed our name to The Iifs. He iis also on our album. He moved back to Michigan iin 2006, so we acquiired Josh Strand on bass. Thiis year Rob moved back to Arizona to reclaiim hiis slot on bass, and Josh has siince deciided to focus on hiis band, Yesterdays Fatigue. We contiinue to wriite and record new songs wiith the four of us back together.
